Build Your Own MythTV

I decided to share my experience in building open media centres using MythTV and Fedora. It has been a long road for me and a few sleepless nights, but the satisfaction of putting it all together and seeing it work flawlessly is second to none.

I'm also building this for myself, it helps me keep my own information organised and easily available.

Some of the information that I provide here can be classified as universal but the systems that I have been building have been customised for Australia, in particular Brisbane since that's where I live.

I would like to thank Google for providing such a wonderful search engine that has allowed me to find the solutions to many of the problems I have faced while building these systems and in particular Jarod Wilson for creating the wonderful Fedora Myth(TV)ology website that allowed me to get started.

My approach to building a MythTV media centre is a bit different to the one at Fedora Myth(TV)ology website as they build the whole system using prebuilt packages from Atrpms. I'm building my own MythTV, Mythplugins, Nvidia drivers and Lirc.

If you find the information of this website useful (or even if you don't :-) please click on the Google ads as they help me keep this site and provide some monetary support to buy new hardware to keep on testing.

You can also help me by donating money via Paypal.

Good Luck!
